Mixing and mastering engineer Wytse Gerichhausen recently had our Magnetimus 2 in his White Sea Studio.
Recently, Wytse posted a video on his YouTube channel putting the stereo VCA compressor and transient saturator/shaper to a thorough test.
On the sine bass line that’s used for the demonstration, the tape-like saturation effect can be heard very clearly from subtle saturation to harmonic distortion.
You can also hear its effectiveness to liven up your drums and the unit’s capabilities on the master bus as a stereo bus compressor.
We recommend good speakers or headphones to experience the full spectrum of the different saturation types.
