The Creme unites a passive EQ according to the Pultec principle with a proven bus compressor in a single unit.

Many successful mixing engineers have one thing in common: They mix with a compressor and an EQ in the master channel. The EQ is usually set to light treble and bass boost, the buss compressor additionally implements a few dB of compression. This provides an idea during mixing of how the mix will sound after mastering. And it helps to find the right volume balance for the individual sounds (in particular the voices).

The Creme combines both at the highest level in a single unit. The passive EQ has been reduced to the most popular applications: Bass boost, in order provide the low notes with greater definition and treble boost, which gives the mix the requisite lustre. The boost has been made switchable, in order to guarantee Total Recall and to reduce the boost to meaningful values for use in the master channel.

The bus compressor is equipped with a few added functions such as a low-cut filter for the side chain and an additional ratio of 1.5:1 for particularly gentle compression. The sequence of EQ and compressor is switchable.

On the Creme side, high quality input and output transformers also ensure additional sound enhancement.

Equally, the Creme is also suitable for use in the master channel.

For sound purists a variant without transformer also exists, with electronically balanced inputs and outputs.
